We just ran across this car, a 67 Caprice 427 with column auto. It has been in storage for the past 20 years. Still owned by the original owner who is ready to part with it. While I'm not normally attracted to this kind of car, I find this one to be strangely appealing due to it's unique color combo (Royal Plum w/Plum interior), originality, and of course the 427. But I have no idea of how to place a value on it. It was dark when we looked at it and it is stored in a dimmly lit storage bldg so we will go back armed with more light. The owner said the motor has never been out, which appears to be true. It is covered in dust so it is hard to tell if the paint is in fact original as the owner said it was. The interior looks perfect, just dusty. From what we could see, the undercarriage looks solid with just surface rust. The car has been in the dry SW all its life and has 47k miles. Owner didn't think they had any paperwork, but there was a pile of stuff in the glove box and I wouldn't be surprised to find the POP in there and a buildsheet somewhere. Any thoughts on what a fair offer might be on something like this?
