Default The "last" 1969 Pace Car?

Just a question for you gurus. Does anyone have records of the production dates of the 1969 Z11 cars? I have read in some old publications that they ceased producing them the first week in May. However, I have a Canadian Z11 with a production date of 05C. When was the last documented car produced? Also, does anyone (site) have the known vins of the '69 Camaro copo cars? I have 05D and an 05E cars. I'd like to see where they fit in the sequence. Thanks to this great site for bringing all of you knowledgeable car guys togeather! Bergy

05A is the last known build date for Z11s at either plant. 05C would be a very late Z11. But some '67 Pace Car replicas were built after the '500' so anything is possible.

A VIN listing of COPO 9560 Camaros [ZL1s] has been available for many years. There are privately maintained partial lists of COPO 9561 [L72] Camaros, mostly Canonsburg Yenkos, because Yenkos' records survive. But they are handwritten, hard to read, and several VINs are in dispute. Some VINs are known from orginal Canadian shipping lists. L72 Camaros were built as late as October '69. A complete listing of 9561 Camaros is not known to exist. Chevy had no need to maintain a list.

I did a registry of 69 pace cars ages ago but only collected serial numbers, not build dates

have ~ 80 & have forwarded my list to be combined with Kurts list

the last VIN I have is N6423xx, last VN is L5292xx

try team Camaro for the 1st gen info, they are exerts over there:

looks like they must have made pace cars into at least 05D. My vin is 6418xx with an 05C build. Thanks for the info.

Whoopsie. 6418xx is an 05A VIN.

There are 05A Z11s with later VINs.

Original trim tag is 05C - Canadian docs show shipping date of May 19, 1969. VINs don't exactly tie out to production weeks as trim tags weren't consecutive with vin assignment.

Bruce,

There are a few pacers after yours, about 2-3 days.

We've talked about your pacer before.
Can you send me a picture of the cowl tag?

Thanks!
