Default Nickey Drag Car

Here is a neat one that maybe someone has seen. It has been offered as a trade for a car i have from a nice gentleman that has taken the time to describe it. I am not sure if i am going to do the trade, but thought someone might recognize it and can tell some history of it. Maybe someone has an idea of a trade for a trade for a trade! Hey nothing is crazy anymore i guess!

1957 Gasser;
Constructed in the early 1960s in the Chicago area by a then mechanic, while working for the famous NICKEY Chicago dealership. NICKEY was one of the very few GM Factory Racing Teams of that era. Producing many very famous racing cars, both in Drag Racing, as well as Road Racing. Most notably the NICKEY Camaro.
This B-Gasser was constructed utilizing not a Chevy engine, but a 397cu in Pontiac, with a very rare Paxton Super Charger, breathing through twin Carter AFB Carbs. The engine and TH350 Transmission were shifted rearward by a full 18". This modification also included a rearward placement of the engine firewall and the drivers seat, as well. Front suspension is a straight axle, as many of the front running gasser of the day had. The differential, an Olds unit sets just ahead of the rear mounted wheelie bars.
The car was raced throughout the country and on into the early 1970s by the builder. Then passed it on to a fellow Chicagoan, who raced it until 1974. He tucked it away for 34 years. Then he had the car repainted back to its recognizable, original Orange livery. Other than that, the radiator, the wheels and fuel tank, it is completely original from those early 1960 days. Period correct van seating, metal flake steering wheel, gauges, very early electronic ignition, glass flip front end, blue hue windows and more. Just as it was built originally.

I don't know how many big block pontiacs were in 57 chevy's back then on US30, but its close to an exact match except for the supercharger to a guys missing car I know, his car had a big block pontiac in it, did under 10 from what he told me. pm me if interested, it is lost and he would love to find it (he was not the original builder, he was a driver). It had a different name than the one on this car, but the pontiac engine in a 57 chevy aspect was too odd for me not to respond.
