Old Cars Weekly has an update on this interesting story:
The 21 trailers sealed with big-block cars bearing the names "Yenko," "Sting Ray" and "Super Sport," and housing parts for such cars, have been emptied, but the rumble from the greatest muscle car find ever can still be felt. Now the 1970 Chevrolet LS6 Chevelle SS with its original Fathom Blue paint, white stripes and 450-hp 454-cid V-8 that was discovered among the parts and pieces is about to see the light of day once again. You can read the whole story here. OldCarsWeekly.com |

Did the find reunite the original engine to any member's car??? The original article mentioned that over 150 high performance engines were found!!
Amazing that Fisette bought all of the trailers sight unseen of the contents and made an educated bid. Any idea what he paid? Would a million be in-line for all he got?? What an amazing story!

"According to Milestone, this bench-seat,automatic transmission-equipped Chevelle is an excellent example of an original-paint,documented and unmolested LS6 Chevelle still riding on its original wheels and tires. The car was last registered in 1975."
That is good news, and although I've not seen this Chevelle in person, those sure don't look like the factory 1970 magnum SS wheels and F70X14 tires to me...1971-72 Chevelle 15" SS rims on G78X15 white stripe tires most likely. |
