Default 69 L-78 Chevelle SS Column Shft?

Did Chevy produce any 69 SS Chevelle cars with a column shift?

Thanks

Manual Trans.,no..Automatic yes,in both bench & bucket seats.
If you ordered the Auto Trans.,it would've started out on the steering column 1st.You had to pay an extra $53.75 if you wanted it on the floor w/console and then another $121.15 for the buckets too.Bench seats were std. equipment with the Super Sport pkg.
Bucket seats didn't mean it automatically came with a floor shift either. It woulda stayed on the column, unless you paid extra for the console/shifter.
But of the 1487 L-78 engines coded for an Auto Trans.,one can only extrapolate or "guesstimate" as to how many were column shifted vs. floor shifted.
Chevrolet & Fisher Body didn't keep accurate records, and none have been found yet to show exactly how many actually were.

We're talking Big Block Super Sport so that's correct. The Muncie MC-1 heavy duty 3 spd. was the base M/T on the floor along w/benchseat and no console,so you had to pay extra if you wanted a 4 spd.,the console or the buckets too.
