Default Urgent Help Mouse In Car!!!!

This morning my son came in and said "dad I think there is an animal in the garage, I heard some scratching or something" well we went and sat in the garage for a while and to my horror I heard the sound of mouse teeth grinding on metal at the back on my Impala!!!!!!!!

I searched the site and read about Irish spring soap and mothballs. Are these the best way to get the bugger out and how long will it take to get the smell out of the car ?????

Any other ideas or tips, I cant use poison because we have pets and I fear one of them finding a dead mouse would surely look upon it as a delicacy.

Dru,

tried those in the shed last year and they didnt seem to work. I think they work for a while and then the aminals get used to them

Maybe if we parked your yenko in there for a while it would scare them away (just leave the keys in case i need to move it!!)

I would just put a couple mouse traps with cheese in the trunk and seating area. Roll up the windows so the pets can't get them.

Smear peanut butter into a glue trap.Once the mouse goes in it,they're done for.
Then pick up the trap & throw it away or give it to a local snake owner.

believe it or not I tried the irish spring soap.I put it in the car 2 years ago. I can't remember how long after I checked it again to find that the mice ate about half of the bars. Besides the green droppings at first, I have'nt seen any evidence of mice in the car since. And the fresh Irish Spring smell leaves it smelling "manley yes"

VERY IMPORTANT FACT!!!!!!

If you kill or catch what is in there make sure you listen VERY carefully in and around the car for several days. Mice don't go into cars to eat they go in there to nest! The gestation period is short for mice so if you take mama away the little ones will die and you have more little dead problems. If you listen VERY carefully after mama is gone, you will here the babies making little squeaking noises and can track them down. m
