Default 1989 Turbo Trans Am Indianapolis Festival Car

Hello to all,
I recently purchased an 1989 TTA festival car that was used at the Indianapolis race. It was car # 76. Does anyone know someone who might have a record of who was signed in to drive this car for the week of the race? I know this was given to someone to use then and then sold to a dealer but can not find out who used it at the race. Supposedly someone has that information somewhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Vic

I hope so. I sent my request in about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully I will get something back other than the usual stuff.
Thanks for the input.

np Vic. I too know Steve. Known him for 15 years... Jim has most likely th egreatest collection of TTA stuff in the world.. He even has TWO RARE (one of 100) electric power riding TTA cars. Jims car is nothing short of amazing..

Hi Frank and Vic,

I'm a big fan of pace cars!

When I found the #98 Unser TTA it was in the hands of Dale Armstrong. Dale is a fellow Canadian that flew the coup and ended up in SoCal.

Dale is an amazing wrench and found his greatest success being Kenny Berstein's crew chief. Dale's wife is a press secretary and represents the Unser's and the Bernstein's. Dale went to Indy, met and spent some time with Unser and ended up buying the #98 car.

Some of the memorabilia that came with the car is in the above link. Unser gave Dale his participant entry ticket and all access pass, cool stuff.

Jim is definitely an authority on these cars and a nice guy to boot.

I've not had the chance to drive it but if it works anything like a GNX your in for alot of fun Vic.

Vic,

If you go to turbobuick.com they have a section on TTA's. Some very resourcefull people over there, that is where I met Jim.

Let us know if you find out who the driver was.

Fred

Jim will be getting back Vic

prototype. the TTA's fly... neck and neck with the GNX's.. Jims car runs its ass off.. scary fast top end.. no speed limiter and 155-165 is the norm for these
