Default Tony (TDW's) Cool Nomad Gasser!

I was looking around for another project a couple of years back. I stumbled across a 55 Nomad that a guy was building into a Gasser style.. I really liked the look. I made him a couple of offers on his, but for the amount of work it needed, he was too high. I started looking for a clean bodied one. I ran across this one on e-bay. Bought it a couple of days after last Christmas. Been working on it every since then. What a project it turned into. I think it fought me in one way or another on everthing I did to it. I still need to do some minor body work and interior work. The trim needs attention too.

55 Chevy Nomad. Very nice condition body. No rust at all on the main body or the frame. The drivers side quarter was replaced many moons ago due to an accident. There are some small pin holes in the floorboards. The spare tire well has some rust through.

I had EC1 racing install a Jim Meyers Racing front Gasser clip. The car was put on a surface plate for the frame work. The straight axel is a little different handeling than I am used to. Pretty decent ride though.

Engine is a 427 that was a Chevy Hi-Performance build article that "Scuncio"-Tony- did. He was the writer and builder. 500 HP.
Trans is an M22 that I bought from "427 King "-Chuck here on the site.
Rear end is the original one to the car with Summers Brothers axles. 4;56 posi.

The interior is a pleated thing that was done in the late 60's and it is really showing its age.

Car was painted black in 1969. I has some checking, some dents, some scratches and imperfections. Looks pretty good from a few feet away after the wife spent 3 days cleaning and waxing it.

The tach is one that my friend ran in his Super Stock car in the 70's.

Rear wheels are 15x10 "Milners" from Stockton Wheel with Hoosier pro street 15x12.5x29
Fronts are ET 10 spoke Gasser mags.

The car is a 3 owner car previous to me getting it. The second owner used it as his back and forth to High School car He owned it for 33 years.. From what I have been told, it was always garaged. Hasn't seen rain since 79.

Tilt wheel, disc brakes on the front, Corvette steering wheel, S&W gauges.

Hope you like it! I do!

Tony
