Default 1100849 Alternator---???

Hello-
It seems everyone is after the 843s with the correct date, of course. Would not 1100849 be correct for a 70 model car, a Nova with A/C??? (((car build date JAN. 1970))) Thanks in advance

Signed-

That alternator you have is a 61 amp and should work fine for a car with a/c... It says they were installed on the 69 models and I dont know if they carried it over to 1970.. I think everyone is looking for the 837's instead of the 843's...

According to CBTN, the 849 wasn't used in 1970. For a 1970 Nova with A/C, you should have a 1100845 (6 cylinder) or a 1100843 (V8).

Thank you all very much. So, I would need a late 1969 date.....1100843. What would Oct. or Nov. be??? An L or M or ??? Decoding accessories is difficult, engine/trans/rear end is easy!!!

The letter "I" wasn't used on "stamped" components, so an October Alternator would be a "K", a November alternator would be a "L" and a December alternator would be an "M". I would try to find a December, 1969, or even an early January, 1970 alternator if I were you, but up to 3 months prior would be "technically" acceptable.
