I'm trying to take a digi-pic of a part number, but can't find something called a macro setting to keep it from being blurry or washed out with the flash. Any tips?

It should be an icon of a flower on your camera dial.
![]() Sometimes it actually shows up clearer w/o the Flash enabled. |

You might want to disable the flash, at close range it can be more trouble than help; just light the part with a shop light or other light source. You can also avoid blurry close ups by keeping the camera a reasonable distance away and zooming in to the close up.
Good luck, BCD. |

Oh well, found the flower, turned off the flash, but it's amazing blurry - even from 4 inches away! The manual says it will be ok up to 2 inches away, so I must have some other setting messing things up! Trying to take a picture of a part number stamped into a diverter valve.

I am watching this with hopes as well Marlin. I too have a camera that makes this claim and no matter what I do, it will not focus when close. Standing further away and zooming also does not help.
Mine is a Sony Mavica. Archaic yes but it was great when the first memory card cameras came out because I could download into anyones computer whereas the others could not if the software was not present. Still works good however. Rick
