Default 71 HORNET SC

i have found a 71 hornet SC. there is basically nothing left of the car. i know only 667 of these cars were built. the VIN, driveline, a door and fender are missing. is there anywhere else on the car the the VIN shows up? it obviously looks like someone stole this cars identity and has rebuilt another Hornet with the available parts. if the VIN shows up somewhere else on the car and there still is a title with it, is it worth the work on trying to bring this basketcase back to life? i know the prices aren't strong on them right now but maybe in 5-10 years the AMC's will bring in the money that they deserve.

If you rebuilt the car, there might be a problem. If someone did take the original VIN and put it on another car, and you resurrect this car, there will now be two cars with the identical VIN. It might not ever be an issue unless they are titled/registered in the same state. Just something to consider.
