on my 72 camaro ss i'm going for that old school /day2 look.i've got a healthy sbc already with GM off-road I mechanical cam and just don't know what intake to run. i've got all the good old intakes like the edelbrock TM-1,edelbrock scorpion an the edelbrock TR1-X tunnel ram.i'm trying to get the 70's performance look and have all the other parts like a fly eye air cleaner, cal custom valve covers and the stock fuel line for a 70LT1 with a holley 4bbl.

I would run the one that gives the best performance for your engine combo.

right now my motor is set up for mid to upper rpm the camshafts rpm range is 4200-7000rpm and i'm running 11.5:1 compression. i believe all 3 of these intakes can work with my current combo.i'm just wondering what would look the most aggressive when the hood is off @ car shows

While not entirely safe, these fiberglass fans are an era appropriate add on. I think Pantera's Motion Vette has a hole in the hood from one of these coming unglued.
Cool vintage speed part nonetheless. |

They are as safe as can be. Had one on my Chevelle SS 454 for 10,000 miles during all types of driving...rain, snow, heat, cold, racing, and just plain beating the piss out of the car!
Never a problem! Oh.....that was also while I was driving on Polyglass tires for the same 10,000.....also never a problem! Just all URBAN LEGENDS! ![]()

This from the guy who almost saw his stock fan exit the hood at SCR7!
The box does claim it to be worthy of 10,000 RPM, so who knows. I wouldn't wanna gamble a vintage 'glass hood on it though...which any respectable "Day 2" car should be sporting anyhow. Just havin' fun with ya Frankie. ![]() |
