A while back there was a small discussion about 400 HO, I searched the archives but couldn't find it to refresh my failing memory of what we were talking about. I think NJSteve had mentioned and order sheet showing it, and others were claiming that it wasn't an option in 69.
I found my order sheets, as follows: ![]() Bud I have some bigger scans if you need me to post them. ![]() |

Depends on whether you're talking about Firebird or GTO.
With the GTO, Ram Air was standard with the 400 HO, hence the name Ram Air III (although I believe 400 HO Ram Air is the proper name). For the Firebird, Ram Air was optional with this engine but standard with the Trans Am. |

Wasnt me. I did post a question a week or so ago, trying to ID the distributor I found in my 72 455 HO TA. The dist ended up being from a 68 350 HO engine. Sorry. -NJSteve

I thought it was you, sorry.
That 350 HO distributor is sweet enough. |

Notice the RAIV is not available on the engine list you provided - why?

Because it is special order, they have a seperate sheet for it and a few other options. L67
I already took the paper work home, but I can scan the special order sheet later if you want. Here is the regular form: 1969 Order Form |
