Default 427 Cobra photos

From the January 1967 Popular Hot Rodding road test of the 427 Cobra. Car had 2x4 427 engine but the article noted that: "In 1967 a 428-inch engine will be installed in Cobras." I love that side view showing that killer low stance. Wheels are the Pete Brock designed Halibrand "Sunburst" wheels used when the supply of GT-40 Halibrands ran low.

Best ET was 12.46 at 114 mph. Note that this is a narrow-fender ("narrow-hip," as the Brits called it) street car without the wide flared rear fenders or the S/C version's sidepipes, hood scoop and roll bar. Dealer plates too.
