I found this trick tonight this is suppose to stop a worm from going to your address book on your e-mail
First open your address and click on add new contact or new person just as you would add new friends to your e-mail list address book Second in the window where you would type in your friends FIRST name put in !000 ( that’s an exclamation mark followed by three zeros) In the window below where it prompts you to enter the new e-mail address type in WormAlert Third Then complete every thing by clicking add enter ok and make sure to put this on top of all your address Now here is what you have done and why it works the name !000 will be placed at the top of your address book as entry # 1 This will be where the worm will start in an effort to send itself to all your friends But when the it tries to send itself to !000 it will be undeliverable because of the phony e-mail address you entered (WormAlert) if the first attempt fails (which it will because of the phony address ) the worm goes no further and your friends will not be infected. Also Microsoft has a new security update patch for explorer as of last night so a windows update would be wise ![]() |

Here's another computer trick...just for fun...
1. open up microsoft Word 2. type in "=rand(99,199)" ...(everything within the quotes, but not the quotes themselves and no spaces) 3. hit enter

It doesn't work, the worm isn't going to wait until you get a "not delivered" message back from your ISP before sending to the others in your address book. And by the time the worm is reading your address book your computer is already infected. And! all these worms and virus' carry payloads that trigger at a later date and do evil things like filling up your drive with junk files or deleting system files so once you reboot the PC doesn't work...
The only offensive moves you can do to combat this crap is a good virus scanner and learn to recognize infected e-mails and delete them... |

You are correct sir!
I'm not a big fan of Norton's products (too intrusive and embedded into your computer's operating system in my opinion). I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone who doesn't already have some sort of virus protection get this FREE virus software. Grisoft's AVG Virus protection (free) I've been using it for a few years w/ only positive results. **And, common sense helps here too...if it's an e-mail attachment and you don't know what it is...DON'T CLICK ON IT ![]() -Mark Holman
