Default ? on SUN Super Tach (60/70's style 10,000)

Picked up a very nice Sun Super Tach and it has 3 wires coming out the back. 1 black and 2 red. black and 1 red same gauge and they read at the tachs teminals Black/neg red/ing switch no problem there the smaller red one is attached to a terminal that reads trigger. Can this go to the HEI Tack plug or to the dist/positive sid if running a pooints distrubator? Or am I missing a peice tht needs to be mounted between the tach and the coil?

check the back of the tach, your particular model may require a seperate transmitter, some of the early supertach's say "requires ..... transmitter" and require these to operate unless you can modify it somehow, better off just getting a late 69 or newer model that has 4 wires coming out of it, and is self contained.
