Default Muncie Shifter Identification (68/69 Impala?)

Was hoping to get a perspective from you all on a shifter I have. This particular shifter is out of my depth, but based on the rods, linkage, etc I am thinking it might be 68 Impala. It has an orange dust cap that covers the reverse resistance bearing.

I don't see any numbers stamped into the rods or the shifter handle for that matter

Any help/information on it's correct application would be appreciated.
