I bought a '69 Rallye Green Nova yesterday that according to the NCRS report was bought new at Bill Jacobs Chevrolet in Joliet Illinois. I did a search and found an old newspaper ad that showed that he may have been in the Yenko dealer network. Not much left of the car. Interior is gutted, 1970 12-bolt, big block heater core, 4-speed brake pedal, clutch pedal is missing. Still confused on how to determine the big block frame mounts but I'm thinking these are small block units.
1992 Title shows a Mark Stine from Naperville,Ill. I'm on the fence as to as to what I'm going to do with it. Has some home made gauge pod across the right side of the dash. I'll try and post a couple of pictures later. I keep getting a message saying my file size is too big to post pictures?

I do not believe Bill Jacobs was in the Yenko network @ all.
I know a few mechanics, salesmen, parts counter & service writers who worked there back then, and none of them ever mentioned it to me,and would have during the last 25+ years. I've never seen any network affiliation on paper either. Can you share that with us? |

BTW~Bill Jacobs himself died about 3-4 years ago,and his wife was running the dealership since then, but later soon handed it over to her son,who in turn sold it last April,to the surprise of thousands.
It is now known as Hawk Chevrolet & Cadillac. The Vcca has been having their annual GM parts swapmeet there for decades during mid January, which has always been an annual passing of winter for many of us.But the show has completely dissolved because of that sale,as the new owners want nothing to do with hosting a swapmeet. This would've been the Vcca 43rd annual swapmeet.. |

Rick, You are correct. It was Dick Harrell, Not Yenko.

----I knew Billy pretty well. Hard guy to get to know. I was partially employed by Billy thru Classic Motors and completely restored a 150 Jag fixed head coupe that had absurdly low miles but had been stored badly. Also had many smaller projects over the years. Billy and my boss, Richard B, were very close friends as well. Underneath it all he was a very nice, very private family guy. His Dad would have been at the head of the dealership in the Yenko days and I never have known it to be a Yenko dealer for what it's worth. They may have done some dealer trading with Jack Douglass Chevrolet, but I don't remember them being close personally..........Bill S
---- I hadn't heard about the Dick H connection, but it makes sense. Oh,,,I spent many a winter Weekend day at BJs swap meet back in the day!!!!!!! I miss those days and the camaraderie! Anybody notice the misspelling of Camaro????? |

I was mistaken on the Yenko connection. The thread I found pertaining to Bill Jacobs was discussing Yenkos and that's when my mind must have wondered....

Well upon further review it looks like this may have been a bench seat automatic car originally. The speedo cable exits the firewall closer to the left and not near the distributor. Also can anyone verify 9204 is the correct brake booster for Nova's as well as Camaro's? Thanks
