1968 hemi Dart.... motor I.D.

Is there any way to identify if a motor came in one of the original 1968 Hemi Darts?
Would they have a vin and date on the motor itself? [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif[/img]
... or any other special identifying marks?
