Default NOS Koni Shocks

I bought a NOS set of single-adjustable Konis for one of my Camaros. They are dated 12/71 and look different than the newer Konis. Before I bolt these up, I would like to know if these are rare and any more valuable than a new set of four.

Thanks, Tony

probably

Pontiac had a Koni shock option, I am certain some Trans Am owner will buy you a new set of four for your two

UNLESS you have drag shocks

are they fronts or rears or all 4?

I have a pair of NOS Konis for a 57 Mercedes 300 SL, they look kool;

I decided to keep these for a survivor car I'm trying to buy, but here are the pics for reference:

I'd love to find a set of the double adjustable Koni's for my JL8 car. If you do decide to sell those Koni's post it up!

Nice shocks! Looks to me the decal is definetly different then the newer versions. Look a little more red also. I have 2 pair of front Koni drag shocks that are adjustable. Cure Ride were pretty big in my day for drag shocks.

Tony,

You can put my name on your list for those shocks as well. Very cool and would be great on my 1970 Trans Am! Ed

The Pontiac Firebird Koni shock option in 1969 was a single adjustable shock, double adjustable shocks were not widely available until the 80's and 90's ... thank us autocrossers for getting them available for the mainstream public ... but they are really a tuning nightmare for all but the most dedicated racer / autoxer and rarely used for street cars.

the "standard" Koni shock is a single adjustable shock. The adjustment is for rebound. The double adjustable shock (or strut) will allow you to adjust both compression and rebound independently from each other and, again, are normally not used on street cars.
