Default 454 ID

I was at an auction Sat that included a basket (literally) of "disassemble motor" parts. It was obviously a BBC, so I checked it out a little. Lighting was bad, but I believe it was a 454 May 1971 cast 4 bolt block with May 1971 heads (don't remember the casting numbers). The assy code was early June with a FZU suffix. I can't find any reference to an FZU engine code for 71. Closest thing is a CZU, but I am pretty sure it was FZU (with bad light, my 58 year old eyes and dim lighting).

Anyone?

Maybe it's another LS6 block out of a 71 Nova just like the one talked about on the site here!!

Funny you would say that Rich. I actually had a smart arse comment about that originally, but deleted it before posting.

Anyone have Colvin's book covering 70 to 74?
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Hi Kendall:

I found the CZU, but no FZU. I guess you got the same result?
