Default Need an opinion

Got a friend looking at a 70 Chevelle L34 for a fairly strong price (advertised as 'born with' engine). The casting date of the block is exactly two months before the pad assembly date (Nov 19/69 - Jan 19/70). This is an Atlanta car.

I know in some cases such a time frame would not be beyond the realm of possibility. However, 1970 L34 Chevelles were being built in huge numbers at that time of year. Could this type of engine sat around for that long?

What do you think? Appreciate it.

I've asked him to get a picture of the pad stamping if possible. I am not knowledgeable enough on stampings so I may be back here with it if I get it.
