Default More Repro "Junk"

O.K...........I just got another "Education" with Reproduction "JUNK"......If you are putting your car together, be very careful of the sheetmetal "Nuts" you use....I used this type for installing the inner fender panels in my Chevelle a couple of years ago...Had to remove the panel for some repairs and when trying to unscrew the bolts.....the nuts broke out of the clip body.......Ended up grinding the bolt heads off.......The clip body is soft and the cross section where the nut is coined in is so small it can't accept any force to speak of and the nut just breaks out and spins.........."Don't" make the same mistake I did.........Be selective in buying these cage nuts and use U.S. made "Real" ones......."Chinese Junk".......Did I say "Chinese Junk" and shame on the retailers that have no Concern other than making a "Profit"......Just my $.02 about "Chinese Junk" again....

Had the same trouble with bolt set for 68 car. Damm welds are not strong enough to hold the nut onto the cage assembly. Drives me crazy that dealers even sell the crap.

Have to use originals and get them plated or redone. While it is more expensive, harder to locate and time consuming, it makes for a better AMERICAN musclecar restoration. The parts are out there, we just can not succomb to the junk to restore or AMERICAN iron. Great point and info Ken. You do know more things than just bratwurst and chedder cheese recipes. I tried to tell Benny that but........... you know him.

Everyone should take the time to read the Team Camaro thread......."Very Important".....It seems that everyone is afraid to call a "Spade" a "Spade" because of one reason.........Lawsuits and "Lawyers".......Take me back to the Sixties when Common Sense still had some meaning.....
