A friend is getting ready to paint his Fathom Green Nova SS. The car has the lower rocker trim. His question were the rockers blacked out on this color? I know that certain Camaro colors did not recieve blackout. Did this also apply to Novas? Thanks in advance...BKH

I don't believe the fathom green received the black-out treatment, just the lighter colors.

Darker colors like dusk blue, fathom green, black....did not get the black paint accent. Look at the photos of BBB's 69 for reference.

Thats what I thought...I didn't think it got it. The Garnet red one we are doing had it. But I didn't think the dark color would..BKH

I think you can use the same rule of thumb with Novas as X66 camaros. The black simply doesn't show up well enough on some of the darker colors to warrent it.
I've seen some Novas that had the black out without the lower rocker chrome, although the most common is with the double chrome. I sometimes think they used the same logic with this as the rocker curtains on 68s. ![]() |
