I have Hagerty. They are pretty decent pricewise. The best price that I found.

My other car (BB 67 Impala) I have a standard policy through a regular carrier but it was a hassle getting the proper stated value. Im going throught the quote process right now with the specialty carriers.

MK has great rates and NO hassles Tammy has been great to deal with, I switched from Haggerty and saved 1,200 per year total on my cars with the exact same coverage. Good Luck Doug

Why go anywhere other than M&K? They write policies for folks from this site every day...that should tell ya something!

As I stated earlier MK is a sponsor of this site and you should consider them. Tammy was unable to insure my cars for underwriting reasons so I insure with Hagerty. The true test of an insurer is customer service when you have a claim. Here's an experience I've had.

My 16 year old son's car was in the shop and he needed something to drive to school so I let him drive my 38 Chevy Streetrod to school for 2 days. On the second day 3 girls asked for a ride home from school and of course he couldn't say no. The car had 2 front seats and some space behind them. So against my rules and the law he gives the girls a ride and decides its time to show off as they pull out of a gas station. He over accelarates and looses control and hits an SUV and flips that vehicle over. Thankfully nobody is hurt except for some cuts and bruises. I had only gotten the policy from Hagerty about 3 months before and wondered how this was going to play out. My car was insured for 40K, they SUV he hit was totaled for around 25K, there was about $1500 in doctors bills and $500 in towing. Hagerty paid me $40K, the other guy got $25K and everyone was reimbursed for medical and towing. They took my statement once, never spoke with my son, called and got the police report and wrote all the checks within 10 days. They didn't cancel me and have told me that any liscensed driver that I allow to drive is covered in my car. All this for a $400 yearly premium.

If you can find a more responsive and better rated Insurance company then buy it! But you will still wonder till the day you have a claim how they are going to come through.

Been there, done that!

Man,

I thought I had a problem. Well my new ride is an lt1z and the impala im sure will be a temptation for my son who will be driving soon so I guess after hearing your story it was a good idea to ask what other people thought.

But in the end the metal can be replaced, but thank god no one was hurt bad.

Thanks for the info

Carl
