Default Question about 70 Z/28

I have a good friend who bought an original low mile 70 Z28 a while back, and now he's detailing it and readying it for Nationals. The jack, base and cover are mint, and when he removed the tire iron, we were looking at the sleeve that holds it to the jack, and wonder if it's the correct one or not. I ask because we have a few different sleeves all slated to be originals and they are all different. One is from his 70 Pontiac Ram Air (left in picture)- long rubber one, a short rubber one sent to us by Jim S (middle of picture)that was reported to be for a 70 Z/28, and the one that came on this low mile 70 Z that is a short foam sleeve (pictured on the right). Can you look at the picture in the link below and tell me which one is correct? Trying to make this car perfect. Thanks for your help guys.

This one is tough, there isn't a lot of original cars to go by and the assembly manual I believe shows plastic straps as does the jacking instruction label on the trunk lid.
My car has the rubber like you show in your picture, but you never know what the dealer added for a raddle or the owner. But I'm sticking to what mine has until I have more proff.
It is interesting the foam one that was in the car, would like to get a better look at this one, never seen one like that.
Also would like to know more about the car.

Jack,

The car in question was recently added to a friends growing collection of low mile original survivor cars and IMHO it is one of the nicest unrestored original survivor Camaro's I have seen. The car is a very low mile RS Z/28 in 53 Camaro Gold and has 727 Saddle custom interior. Everything on the car appears original and untouched right down to the plug wires. The car has been researched back through 2 previous owners, one of which was the original owner who is now in his early 60's. When the current owner pulled the jack out, I was floored by its original patina and that was when we looked at the foam sleeve. It wears a few small stress cracks due to age but other than that, it appears an original and that's what we are trying to verify against another low mile survivor? I am thinking it's an original part as the entire car appears to be untouched by anyone and is virtually flawless throughout. I'll talk to the owner this week and he if he minds me posting a couple pictures. If anyone else cares to chime in...feel free.

Cheers

Small commodity items like that may have had multiple suppliers. It was just a rubber band....
