Default 1969 Camaro fender stripe(hockey stick)?

I have noticed that on the 1969 Camaro SS fender stripe, that some of the first fine line, below the emblem, stop at the bumper cut out and some go to the top of the fender ext.Does anyone know why?I see in Jerry's book he has one for a 396 and one for a 350?I am just about to paint my fenders on my Big block car and what to do it right.

Thanks Doug

The D90 stripe, std on Camaro SS was slightly different for the first few months of production but for a different reason. It initially extended about a inch or so onto the fender extension. It was then changed to end at the seam. The date I have heard for that change is November '68.

Here is my original paint 04C built Camaro SS Hockey Stripe:

You will notice that so many cars are painted incorrectly. Also notice that the stripe stops at the fender edge.

I believe the fender stripe change in Nov of 68. My car was built 9B of 68 and has the extended stripe. Click on the link below and you will see a few pics of what your looking for.

Well, if this helps, heres a photo of my car that BWAG of this forum ordered new in 1968 when he worked for Carl Schmidt Chevrolet and ordered it to go SS/EA racing.

It was delivered Dec of the same year. Pretty good veiw of the stripes and the hood too. As for the wheels, according to Bob, they were taken off the Dealers Corvette so they could break the car in!

Sherwood Allen, (Nickey to me) is a close and personal friend and he's been hounding me to sell him the car for the past 20 years!!) He even tuned my Camaro once or twice!
