Hey , I found a 70 MALIBU not SS true LS6 car with full documentation ....protecto/build sheets and all 30,000 mile car bought from orig. owner history . It has restoration started but not disassembled .... NOS front fenders and NOS qtrs. installed , but still have orig. nice pieces ....the car is complete breather and all . He wants $90,000 with it needing restoration and said it's like 1 of 13 ordered this way ??? He thinks it's like a $200,000 plus car completed . What's you guys opinions and anyone interested ....price is firm ! Thanks , Richard

Never heard of an LS6 Malibu; I'd like to see the documentation. Sounds like a cool car either way.

I for one would be very interested in seeing some proof of this car. Not an impossiblilty but highly unlikely as I have seen stranger things come from Chevrolet. It would be a very neat car if it is in fact true. A copy of a build sheet would be a good start. Let me know if I can help.

I think you'll need to provide some more info (like buildsheet copy Rick asks for) before many here will hazard a value guess. I'm a little gunshy when I here numbers like "1 of 13" are tossed out. Very knowledgable folks here that haven't ever heard of one let alone production quantity.
Hope it turns out well for you. Dave |

There are no production facts that I have ever heard of so the 1 of 13 is someone making stuff up. I'm guessing the Malibu part is the car probably has non SS door panels which is quite common but I could see where someone would think that was special. Column shift auto and bench seat does not help the value so my value guess would be about 90K as a finished car. Color also will be a big value factor.

A big-block could be ordered in non-SS 70 Malibu, but you were limited to the 330hp 402 (LS3) engine. Just not possible to get an LS6 in a regular Malibu. No evidence of such a car in any GM literature, and if there were in fact multiple cars built, then something (either info or an actual car) would have surfaced by now. Chevrolet has no records breaking down engines by the models in which they were installed. If such a car existed, it would likely be a one-of-one, and likely worth a substantial amount. Never say never though, right? All you have to do is post a scan of the build sheet and all us skeptics will be shut up.
I suspect that the owner either has an SS454 car with the often-found Malibu door panel emblems, or an LS3-equipped 70 Malibu. Read all about the latter at my website.
