Default Ebay dirt bag

Thought some of you would find this funny. It is my correspondence with an ebay scammer who listed a cuda convertible as a buy it now for 7k. You think they would try to make the price a little believable.
Enjoy

JOHN

ps read from bottom to top!

Hi, where are you overseas? I would like to get the car and arrange my own shipping. I am frequently overseas, as i am a 17 year veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). I do all my transactions face to face. Please let me know, i can be on a Bureau jet in under 2 hours. Please have all your paperwork ready and i will have payment with me in the form of US cash. If you get me the info right away, we can meet face to face tomorrow. I will also pay you a bonus of a total of $10,000 for being expedient.

Thanks
Agent Mike Harden,

PS. I will be traveling with another agent who also happens to be a car fan.
Thanks again.

Hi there,
I am glad that you are interested in buying my car, you should know that it's in brand new condition, has no mechanical or cosmetic problems, was never involved in any kind of accidents it was always garage kept and well maintained. The title is clear ,it is not a salvage one. I have legal document by which I can transfer the title to your name. The car is still US registered so you will not have to pay any custom taxes.
I am looking to sell it right away for $7,000 (shipping and title transfer fees included). There is a reason for selling it for such a low price but it's just something personal and I'm not willing to discuss it in public so please don't ask. I am in the military on duty outside the country and have nobody back home and i brought the car with me thinking that I could register it here.(The transaction will close only through the eBay so we can both be protected.
All you have to do is to email me your complete name and address for shipping and after that ebay will contact you with more info regarding shipping and payment.
Let me know if you are interested to purchase my car.

Your's respectfully

I should have posted my most recent reply.

Dear Sir, I am currently running your name with British authorities to establish your identity. So far you are not who you say you are. I am in contact with Interpol now and i will know what is up shortly. I will also begin to trace your emails. After 17 years with the FBI, i trust no one...
God help you if you are perpetrating a fraud.

These goofs are doing this day in and day out, but once in a while you have to play along. I think next i am going to tell him that i have a cashiers check but it is for more than the price of the car, so if he will send me the diference I will send him the check for more

This is hilarious. It's not surprising. I'm selling a car on ebay now for the first time. I'm amazed at the number of people who want to direct me to bogus websites just so you will input your ebay login information. Others want me reveal the reserve and/or negotiate off of ebay. If you politely or not so politely decline, they respond with vituperative emails disparaging my age, intellegence, etc. Am I alone, or is this a common occurence while auctioning on ebay?

I have not sold anything on e-bay in 6 months and I still get 1 or 2 "offers" a week from people who must have my item!
