Default Diverter valve restoration

How are you guys restoring your diverter valves? I'm having a tough time figuring out how to plate cover with the ink stamping on it as it is not removable. Any advice besides sending it to MacNeish, etc.?

I've had very good service from Bill Hodel. As far as I know, his service is the only one that disassembles them completely and rebuilds them internally. Not cheap but the quality is there. You can reach Bill @ 330-832-0871 .
Hope this helps.
