I need the correct metal clips that attach the rubber flap to the rad support for a 70 L78 Nova. WILMASBOY made a post on Steve's nova site about a guy named Benny having them but can not get in touch with him.

Joe, 1970 BB Nova does not use the metal T-clips...the 70 cars used a small plastic "button"....I know you can get these from National Nostalgic Nova. Not sure if they are sold separate or as part of a kit with the flap and bracket...I have got them from Wayne before..give them a call 717-252-4192 or 717-252-2383....tom
ps; you are a member of NNN, right..??? ![]()

Once again, I am amazed at the information one can get from people on this site. Thanks WILMASBOY, I almost pm'd you about this as I was not sure if the 69 & 70 used the same type connector.

It thought the crossover was after the beginning of the '70 year - didn't some early '70 Novas get the metal version?

It seems that the plastic buttons were put in service on 12/15/69 according to the 1970 GM Nova assembly manual. I found out something interesting that GM also used these same plastic buttons on the plastic filler panel between the front bumper to the reinforcement metal panel below the plastic filler panel on the leading edge also on 12/15/69. Hope this can help. Does NNN sell these new or does Wayne a stash of used ones?

I know the buttons come with the 70 rad flap kit..not sure if you can buy them separately....I had a couple "loose" originals..sent one to a guy who was going to recreate them...forget how that turned out. I recently used the flap kit on my 70 th400 car..worked fine. Our 70 4spd has a 12C cowl date and has the buttons...that is right after your 12/15 date. This photo shows original flap and buttons.
