Another case of regurgitating a former glorious moniker in hopes of reviving some long lost MoPar MOJO!

Now the '08 Chally? That's another story!

Not that it bothered me at the time, but the name "Demon" caused alot of bad press from the Evangelicals who disapproved of it. Chrysler dropped the name because of this. Hard to believe they are that stupid to bring it back.
Of course, "No va" in spanish means "no go", and a "Matador" is a "killer", not a bull fighter.
This is why marketeing people have a hard time getting any respect.

I think it's kind of cool. If anyone has a problem with Demon they ought to be taken out back and shot...its a car name for crying out loud.

The "Nova" story is told in just about every business and marketing class. Too bad its not true, just another urban legend.

Here's a link to the real story.

But the flip side of this story: We had a Catholic Priest from the Quincy, IL area who used to race at our strip; a Great Guy and a dedicated, hardcore, successful racer. His name was David Munn and he had his car lettered as "Father D.MUNN" with a little devil incorporated in the artwork.
Unfortunately he died of natural causes at a very early age,(around forty if I remember correctly.) Everyone liked and respected the guy. Just a lot of fun to be around, and obviously a cool sense of humor.

Jeez, all the complaining about "ricers" and about how today's kids don't appreciate American muscle and then Detroit makes an effort (in this new Demon, for example) to beat-back the ricer, etc., attack on our market and you guys complain about that. I realize that some guys like certain cars and some guys do not--that's normal. As soon as I clicked the link and saw that gold Demon prototype I thought "cool." Maybe I'd buy one, maybe not, but at least Mopar is trying. No wonder Detroit is cautious about what they are willing to produce--we complain about what they should build, Detroit builds it, and then we don't buy it.

First time I drove a Miata in 1990 I laughed at how fun it was. Yeah, it was kind of a chick-car but it had the same leather smell of my dad's '67 Healey, sounded like a '60s Brit sports car, and was a hoot to toss through the curves--and how many Miatas have been sold in the past 15+ years? Millions?

I agree they are trying, but if they want to call it the "new dodge demon" make it a little more recognizable to the old Demon or give it a different name...IMHO....
