Even I am getting saturated with all the great photos but here's my two cents worth. No negative editorializing from me on the cars, just what looked good to me.
My dad bought a '67 BJ8 brand new and I can still remember driving it out of the showroom while I sat in the passenger seat--I was 5 at the time. Learned to drive in it in 1977. Dad's was CA black plates (WHN 521), Healey Blue with dark blue guts and top, painted silver wires, teak dash panels and wheel, no radio, overdrive in 3rd and 4th. Sold it for 4500 in 1980. ![]() After Shelby's twin-turbo 427, this was my favorite car: '68 Hemi R/T. Love the white guts with the blue. I kept going back and drooling over this car. ![]() ![]() Interesting '67 Camaro. ![]() Loved this '70 Cortez LS-6/auto (or was it a 396?). ![]() Bruce hard at work getting photos. Here he was shooting the red '68 L-89 Chevelle convert. Andy's double COPO in the background. ![]() REALLY liked the look of this '67 L-35/Th-400 Chevelle. Those SS wheelcovers, redlines, and beige (?)/black colors just struck me. I would love to have this car. ![]() Nice looking '66 L-78. Loved the skinny pie-crust redlines and the BLACK in/out. ![]() Be still my beating heart: SWEET '33 Ford Woody underway in the drizzle. ![]() '63 ZO6 big-tank with tall whitewalls that filled the wheelwells just right. You can just see the nose of the "Last Stingray" at lower right. Cars were outside being prepped for going under the hammer a few hours later. ![]() Great stance on this 427/400/air/4-spd.--must be an F41 car? ![]() Engine from above car. ![]() Similar to Bruce's shot but I had to say that I loved the idle of this Z. Nice chop to the idle as it eased out of the tent after the bidding. ![]() '68 Yenko out back. Not sure of its heritage. ![]() Loved the look of this '71 Hemi R/T Challenger. Black wheels with caps and white letters really made the car for me. ![]() Bruce going the extra mile to provide just the right angle. He took photography classes in high school and I think this is the "Low angle park bench" technique. Bruce really works hard to provide us with his wonderful photos! ![]() The Gibb COPO Nova about to go inside and go under the hammer. Bruce and budnate are standing by the car. Bruce and Bud had credentials and were allowed in. Bruce's wife Lynn, daughter Holly, and I were no-credential nobodys so the kids in the red jackets kept us at bay. Hey, we did take advatage of Bruce's Media Pass to use the kiss-your-a$$ up-front parking both days! Right on! ![]() |
