I live in the KC area and grew up in Hickman Mills. We used to drive by Dick Harrell's shop on Hickman Mills Drive and look inside. Unless the recent HiWay 71 widening took it out, the building ought to be still there. My dentist was right up the street from Dick and he used to have some of his cars sitting outside the garage; I remember seeing them with the body up.
![]() One of these days, I'll take the camera and go by to see if the building is still standing. I work about five miles from the shop's old location. |

Hey Tom, Can you imagine how many bad a$$ cars made a left or right on to that street? Thanks for the picture. I am glad the building is still there. Should be a historic site. Now some pictures from 1969!!!!!

We did not have any cameras with us in those years. Mom had a Kodak Brownie but never carried it with us. That was too bad. We have few pictures of my Dad drag racing all through the 60s. On the Dick Harrell site, they show Dick in front of his car at the drag strip. That is here at our track, KCIR. Dick at KCIR
