Default L78 Z/28 5 blade fan ID

With the recent interest in these fans, I dusted off the one i had book marked for my 67 L78 Camaro, its different from the "$1,600" fan in that it has 5 flat rivots, the fan blades seem to be flater than most others i've seen and its stamped with the #'s "89" (last two of the part # ??). It does have the 3 1/4 bolt hole spacing and is 18 inches in diameter and has the deep pitch (side of the blade measures 2 1/8 inches when laying on a flat surface). One person i have ran this by says its for 1968, 4 rivot for 67....any input on its true ID ?

I have that same fan on my 68 BB nova. I bought it off e-bay last winter and it was listed as an L78 clutch fan. Not sure what it is off of but it has the same measurements you gave. I asked before here what the difference is and no one responded. I don't think the stamp is 89 I think it is 68. Mine has "front" stamped on it. A "W" on one blade and the numbers 68 also. 5 rivets per blade! Maybe someone can help us out and tell us what the difference is.

Jason

Jason, when i looked close at my fan that has been blasted, it would seem that the "8" has a smaller top circle when viewed as and "89" as opposed to a "68", making the "89" the choice out of the two, but thats just my take. Lets see if we can get to the bottom of this.

That has 5 rivets.
The EXPENSIVE one has only 4.
That fan is fairly common.

However, if anyone determines that the 5 rivet fan is valuable,
I would love to sell the 3 I have.

Ok, so I go out and look at a fan I have.
It is a 5 blade and has the "H" and "FRONT", but no "68 or "89" on the one side.
It does have the "W" on the other side, and is 4 Rivets.
Is this the EXPENSIVE one?
