Might go look at this car! It is real close to my house. I am not a chevelle man so I neeed some help. Does the vin on a chevelle tell you if it is a real SS BB car. Wouldn't an SS car have a tach! This is the link let me know what you guys think.

Beginning in 1969,the Vin number did not callout the original engine size it was assembled with.The tachometer was an extra cost option on either Super Sports OR Malibus,so that's no indicator.
Among other subtle details,ask him what the rearend code suffix and assembly date of it is,since he's claiming it as authentic to this Chevelle. If he has no original documents to show what it was built as,I would look into past owner history and see what they say. ------------------ ![]() They Will Reign in Arizona.. |

Jason...Check the steering shaft where it bolts to the box. If it is bolted on both sides, that is a good indication that it is a BB car.
Does the dash plaque say SS or malibu?

Well that didn't last long! Someone bought it with buy it now. I had to go to my son's football game and was going to call him when I got home. By the pictures he posted someone got a good deal.
