Default Second Motion re-spin?

Now that Motion Performance is making some "new" cars isn't it about time they brought back the Phase III GT Corvette although they could modernize it this time.
Think about it; locate some clean '68-'72 C3 Corvettes, install a healthy LS1 or LS2, add some C4 or C5 suspension pieces along with the 6-speed tranny. Make AC, PW, PS, PB as available options as well as high end stereo systems.
Throw in the standard body mods and striping (keep it exactly as it was back in the day, including the fastback window). Add some modern rubber with classic rims like they would have had back then; leave the "Motion" center emblems off, keep it clean.

That's my recipe for an awesome encore to the Phase III Camaros that they recently turned out. A great body style with kick ass running gear; I'd never be able to afford one but it sure would be cool to see them being produced again.

Any thoughts?

I think you just answered your own question. For what they'd cost you could probably go buy a real one.

The same can be said for the new Motion Camaros though and they built them. Seeing as Motion only built 12 or so of the original Phase III GT's don't you think there would be a market for a second run of those cars with modern running gear?

I think its a cool idea, i've always like the idea of having a basically original looking older gen. corvette like a 69 with some serious modern running gear hidden underneath, and if Motion was involved it would just be a bonus! Maybe put a tuned Ls7 from a new z06 with some nostalgic accents under the hood, the bonus with that is you could still put that to-cool 427 badging on the car.

Another thing that would be cool to see, but is highly unlikely i suspect, would be Motion getting involved with Chevy and doing some wild new Z06 vettes.

Exactly what I was thinking. A '68 or '69 Corvette with a Z06 ingine, six speed tranny plus all of the other retro stuff. I'd prefer not to have any of the real modern billet hardware or any similar upgrades, instead make it appear as a classic Phase III with the modern running gear.
I know I'd love to have one myself.
