I have seen several different front fender engine emblem locations. Are they sapose to be perfectly level with the side marker light or just slightly below?

Doug,
You are correct. I have seen it both ways as well. I did some checking and here is what I came up with. In the 69 factory assembly manual, it shows the stripe break in relation to the side marker hole and calls for a 0.300 gap from the top of the side marker hole to the top of the break in the stripe. The bottom measurement is called out as 0.270 ( reference ). This is most likely due to manufacturing tolerances in the side marker hole stamping. The emblem was centered in the stripe break. In all honesty, 0.030 doesn't amount to spit where emblem placement is concerned. +/- 1/32" is probably normal for emblem placement. Steve
