A friend of mine in Gainesville Ga. told me that he made a commitment purchase the white RS B/M Camaro that I believe was down in La. & (maybe) talked about on this forum a while back. The initial asking price was 85K then jumped to 125K & he said it had 'the letter from Joel' but the seller never sent a copy of the letter only a couple of pics. Was this Camaro ever determined to be real?
![]() He told me that it was sold to someone else yesterday. |

I recall a webpage about this car five or so years back. It never talked about any documentation and was put up by the owner's girl friend. It was something like "Kajun Kat's Camaro"
Both Kevin S. and I tried to contact the owner, but never got an answer. Sounds fishy, but never say never. |

I would have my doubts about that being an original BM car.
That looks like a Ecklers Aftermarket L-88 hood to me! Also, way back then I don't recall seeing any with the stripe going any further forward than the 67 427 Vette hood scoop which is also missing. Not to mention the "Motion" emblems that belong on the sides of the hood. Also it has a Pontiac TA spoiler. Those were almost impossiable to come by back in '69. Also his cars were not jacked up in front that much were they? It looks neat, but just something doesn't feel right about the look of the car to me, as far as one of Joel's is concerned. Perhaps it is the later wheels that make it not look "Right". Pantera ![]()

Pantera, the Green/White "Mexican" Camaro that was owned by Otis Chandler has the same paint scheme and L-88 hood as this white car. I haven't seen a '69 with the Motion emblems on the body. The emblems seem to have come out in very late 69.

So does anyone have a pic out of the magazines that show that hood from back then? I obviously am not up on the Camaro's like I am on the vettes.
Joe do you have the low down. Otis's car may not have been correct. I know I have heard stories about some questionable Camaro in a collection. Was it that same car? Pantera

Otis Chandler's 69 BM Camaro was legit and in fact still had the original window sticker attached to the window.

Otis' car was all original. Here are a few pics.. This is the only 69 BM Camaro I've seen with the center stripe all the way to the front edge (originally).
COPO.. what, if any, stripes are on your '69? I've haven't seen yours yet. The "green meanie" '69 small block car also had the L88 hood, but had 2-Z28 stripes on it. I can't remember seeing any other legit BM cars with the L88 hood. All other 69s (that I've seen) had the stinger or Z28 Cowl hood, except the original hood on Kevin S's Yellow/Black SS427 which looks like a Stinger Scoop molded to a flat hood but was a 1 piece fiberglass hood. the car Otis had:
