Can you figure out the difference with this emblem? Found on a deuce that was purchased in '72-'74.

Yeah, the kid in charge of painting the colored sections was dyslexic.

The <font color="red">RED</font> is where the <font color="blue">BLUE</font> should be.
And the <font color="blue">BLUE</font> is where the <font color="red">RED</font> should be. ![]() |

On the same note... I have always assumed these emblems started out with black paint in them, as they were the same stick-on variety of emblem used on all Yenko sold cars...then had the red white and blue painted on top of the black at Yenko... the original black paint on these seems to have been applied at whatever factory produced the die cast emblem, and it seems to be baked-on, (almost like its powdercoated) and is next to impossible to remove from an original emblem without some heavy-duty paint stripper (or 80 grit sandpaper!) The edges of the black painted, stick-on Yenko emblems are also black... On a Deuce emblem that was painted red white and blue, did the black "edging" still remain on the emblems, or was it painted white, or removed to bare chrome on the edge?

All of the above variations have been found, however the most common is for the edges to be chrome, the blue at the top, and the red at the bottom.
All of my NOS emblems had chrome edges, so I'm not sure what was/was not painted at the mfg'r.

I've never seen a black/chrome Yenko emblem that didnt have the outermost edge (perimiter) painted black... with just the top surfaces left chrome... I've also never found anything that easily removed the original black paint... seems to be some heavy-duty stuff!

Did the orginal emblems have a casting number on the back of them? If so what was it? I happend to find one a while back with a number of 86878889091. Just wondering if it was a true one or reop.

The originals i have do not have part numbers on the back. I think some repros do, some do not, as there have been several people/places making repro emblems over the years.
