I know this is out of the blue but in Franklin Park Illinois, parked at the corner of Grand and 25th(George's Shell) around 1980 there was a creme colored 70 Chevelle for sale with the text "CREAMATER" on the door. I would love to find out what happened to that car. I do know that a buddies sister had dated the owner at the time but I hadn't seen them for 20 years. Anybody familiar with this?

Tom, I remember the CREAMATER well. That car was well known on the street the same time as my Gambler. I grew up on Grand and Mannheim and seen the car many times. Recently, when searching for my 68, someone brought up the 70 your referring to and said they recently have seen it. I will refer back to my sources and see what I come up with and forward any information your way. Good Luck, Don

Don ![]() [/ QUOTE ] OK getting to this area(The Jungle???), Don do you remember in the late 70's there were 2 brothers in a family that lived about 2 blocks south and 2-3 blocks west of Mannheim and Grand that always had 2-3 built Mopars in their driveway? I can remember seeing a 68-69 purple Charger and a 68-69 Barracuda/Challenger there? Or how about Dave Deans Black 69 Chevelle running up and down Grand near there 78-79? I have tons of other gear head peoples names from then coming to me now.

Hey John What about the old Bob Cole 67 Chevelle that was sold to a guy that worked at Grand Manheim Standard. The maroon with no vinyl. when Cole had it in River Grove he put a 427 in ii in his 1 car garage. Cole use to be a car hiker at Brigance. Anybody remember that car? it was about 70 or 71 time frame.

Tom, The Kowalski brothers (Tom & Scotty) used to live in a house behind Mannheim Jr High which is the neighborhood your referring to. In the late 70's and early 80's they had several Mopars. One that sticks in my mind is a Purple 69 Charger. They used to keep this car in their garage literally chained to the floor. The car rarely saw daylight but you knew when it did. A bit paranoid considering not many people cared for those cars back then. I lived 4 blocks from them. Wow, what great memories of the simple life. Now Dave Dean???? That name rings a bell just can't place it. Does the name Billy Evans ring a bell? Another local who used to build some pretty nasty stuff in the same neighborhood. Keep the memories coming.

Wow, you know of the Kowalski boys, that's really cool, I couldn't remember their names. I certianly won't forget their cars. I graduated HS in 1980 to give you an idea of my timeframe. A few friends names from that area I remember are Caffero, Hedstrum, and Latoria and I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting. Car People from my area were Steve Salerno, Billy and Chris Johnson, Joe Ginski(seen on "Practical to Tactical" TV show explaining Mercedes' radar anti-collision system), Kevin Ahrens, Don Nelson(Seen at Elmhurst w/a black 57 Chevy), and John Fornerelli. All these guys had standout cars at one time or another. Can't say I remember Billy Evans at the moment.

The owner of Creamator used to work at the Standard staion on Grand Ave the station is now Cool Heat. When that Standard closed down he opened his own place on Franklin Ave west of 25th. I always tried to race him with my Chevelle Motheres Worry but never happened. He eventually put Creamator away and built a drag car called Bounty Hunter sponsored br Franklin Park Auto. I believe he still owns both cars last I heard.
