Gardner makes exhaust systems for them. I don't know of any reason that there would be a wheel spacer, except to help larger tires clear the fender wells. There should be an option label on the under side of the trunk lid that lists all of the RPO codes.

I have had a few 1987 Grand Nationals. In my opinion for an exhaust system would be to get an ATR Stainless Steel cat back 2 1/2" duals. Get the Stainless Steel ATR Pitbull mufflers too. I have had that system on 3 of my cars. I have also had a 3" ATR SS single shot exhaust which is actually louder. You really don't need 3" unless you are really going to do alot of mods. The 2 1/2" dual exhaust system is made for the Turbo Buicks. Perfect fit. Tailpipes exit behind the rear wheel like the stock system with a nice angle cut to them.
Both websites listed above are the primary two in the Turbo Buick world. GNTTYPE.org has alot of good reading. TurboBuick is an excellent message board like Yenko.net. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

Here is a picture of my modified GN with the 3" ATR.
Don't bother getting a exhaust dump where the test pipe goes. You can run these cars in the 10's WITH full exhaust.

Hear is a link to the GN Registry. If you are looking to have your car documented this is the place.
This is a great site if you are into Turbo Buicks. Good luck with your new GN. They are a blast to drive. Dennis Kirban is a Great Source for parts and info. He is a great person to deal with. Mark L http://www.gnregistry.org/gnhome.htm
