Anybody know of any sites on the net about these?
Got a chance to buy one. Looks real good. Faded red, no rust, but it had the 6cyl replaced with a Chevy 350. Any idea of ballpark values? In this condition, they seem to be selling for the 25-35K range, but with the original 6cyl. I can pick this car up for $5,500.00, running and driving. Rich |

That is a good price for that car I would buy it.There is one I seen around here where I am at that a guy owns with a 350 conversion.Talking with him he told me that he gave $14000.00 for the car.I even got to go for a ride one night at a cruise in.Super quick little car and fun to ride around in.Reminds me of a Cobra in a way, in the way it performed. His car was viper red, built 350 ,4 speed, cut down GM 12 bolt with 373 gears. His did have all black leather interior, depending on the quality of work done to convert the car you are looking at I would say it is worth it easily!

------Check a couple of things. NO.1 is rust. I know, I know, you said there was none, check some more anyway. Its in almost all Austin-Healys. The floor first and then the rear quarters and the front footboxes. NO.2 see if anything was done with the rest of the car to bolster the switch. Last poster mentioned the rear-end. If its the original A-H rear its open and the first time you pop the clutch the car will come out from under you. These conversions were handfuls unless well thought out. How was the cooling system done? ETC.

Just went over there and brought someone for a second opinion. The floor, boxes and entire car is virtually rust free. There is one spot, on the pass side in front of the tire, on the door, that has a little bondo, but the job looks good. The battery is mounted in the trunk. The car actually has a ford 302 rather than a chevy 350. Runs great.
I am strictly looking at this car as a reseller rather than a keeper. The interior is in good servicable condition. It was just moved "outside" a week or so ago after being inside since 1999. It does have some moisture on the floorboards, so again, if it is not worked with soon, it will probably become a basket case. Oh, someone asked about making sure that is it not the "sprite" model. It is a Austin Healey 3000 Mark II. It has the tags riveted on the firewall, both an AH and a Serial Number tag. Rich |

Those cars make great V8 conversions. The V8 actually makes the car lighter than the straight 6 that comes in it stock. They used to sell kits to bolt V8's in them. Cool cars. Car sounds like it is worth alot more than 5500.00.
