SCAM (?) eBay '69 Z/28, 302, matching #s

Is this eBay sale legit?

It's a '69 Z/28 with matching #s 302 and frame-off, yet the guy only wants a "Buy it Now" price of $8,200???

Does anyone here recognize the car?

This one looks suspicious because of the price. Then he had no city listed and on top of that he wants $2K down within 24 hrs. The real warning is the pre-approved bidders notice. All of these are indicative of a scam sale, based on a notice eBay sent out a few months back.

So... it has all the marks of a scam, but maybe I'm wrong?

These thing pop up every week it seems. I don't really understand pre-approved and $8,200. How do you get pre-approved and does the seller do the approving? Maybe the 8,200 is what it takes to get pre-approved.

There was another one on there yesterday as well. 69 Camaro SS 350 car. Very low original miles Daytona Yellow. The car was owned by Felix Sebates(sp)? Car was on ebay for sale a few months back and bid to around 30k and no saled. Yesterday was on with the same pics for $9,000 buy it now. Location listed as Camaro.
I sent it to the fraud department. Bad thing is the positive feedback on the seller was through the roof.

Scam, scam, scam. It's very likely that the seller ID has been hijacked by the scammer. They look for eBay members with 100% positive feedback ratings and then steal their eBay identity. You look at the auction, check the feedback--all good, and think: "This must be legit." It isn't. It's designed to get you to panic at the incredibly low price for such a valuable car and BUY IT NOW. You send the $2,000 "deposit" to a P.O box somewhere (like Europe or Africa) and that's the last you hear from the "seller."

I just got another fake eBay e-mail last night asking me to update my account information or I will "lose all buying and selling privileges." You're supposed to panic and click the link and "update" your account information. I forwarded it to eBay's "spoof" e-mail address and they confirmed it was fake within 10 minutes.

What I find strange is the ONLY price seems to be the $8,200. There is no "bid window" at the bottom of the page. Anybody have a way to run the VIN posted on the auction page?

I just checked it and it's an invalid item now.
They must've found it or someone notified them.
