Default Yenko 1964 Corvette back seat -- dealer option

In the summer of 1968, I purchased a used 1964 Corvette coupe from a dealer in Western PA. When I bought it, it had a back seat in it. The dealer told me that it was installed by Yenko Chevrolet near Pittsburgh, Pa.
Since I was in my late teens, I didn't have much use for a back seat for children, and I almost took it out. But, my friends convinced me it looked nice, so I left it in until I did a body-off restoration in 1982. Since then, except to put it in for a Corvette club meet, the seat has been in storage.
You can see the seat by scrolling half way down this page:
https://www.yenko.net/oldads/oldads.htm

I have posted this message on several Corvette message boards over the years to find out more about the seat and if anyone else has one. I've not found any others at this time.
I do know there were others because I saw one other one myself at a car show in Pittsburgh about 1970. It was exactly like mine except for the color. In addition, a long-time member of the Corvette club in Western Pa, said there were several in the club about the time of the '63 -'67 car.

Does anyone else have any other information on this seat or know anyone else who has one?

Thanks

Tom Piper

Neat...I bet you would have to keep sunscreen on and keep turning if you sat back there though...

If you can read the ad on the Yenko memorabilia page, it says it is a seat for children.
An adult's head would be through the back window.
When I first got it, I tried to sit in it just for fun -- no way.

Yenko sold that seat in his 1964 "Race Preparation and Special Corvette Equipment" catolog. Ad says $59.00 and you can seat 3 kids in your Sting Ray. Don may have used one for his own kids at the time. He also sold a "Yenko Sting Ray Free Flow Muffler" and "Crash Tested" Roll bar see pic from catolog

JoeC

Where can I get a copy of the "Race Preparation and Special Corvette Equipment" catolog?

I would appreciate any information on this that I can get.

Thanks

Not a good place to put the kids, especially since the half shafts had a habit of coming up through the floor at that location, good place for a mother in law though....

I used to ride back there when my dad had a Corvette as a kid.

Does anyone know who Ed A. Smith, above Don Yenko's name, is on this website?
http://www.ccwp.org/1950_board.html

That's the name that is on a battery warranty card, from 1966, that I still have in my glove-box in my '64.

My guess is he was a previous owner.

Thanks
