Default 6700 mile matching #'s 68 427 Biscayne

(This message was originally posted as reply to another message, but thought I'd start a new thread since I added some new important info.)

We've met several people who've said it was a Nickey car. The first we heard was when we were at the McCormick Place show. Some guy was really admiring the car and saying how his friend used to have one exactly like it. Eventually my Dad pulled out the records he does have and the guy verified that one of the previous owners WAS his friend. This guy then asked where the Nickey sticker on the trunk was. (The car was repainted ~10 years ago or so, and evidentally no one replaced the sticker.)
At another car show, we met a guy who used to work at Nickey. (Sorry, I don't know any names of these people, I was little.) He looked at and under the car and said "Yep, that's exactly the way we used to put those ladder bars on."

So yeah that's how we know/heard that our Biscayne is a Nickey car. I talked to my Dad and he said he saw something about a guy named Don Swaitek(sp?) in another thread, and that he can verify and document Nickey cars. Anyone know anything about this? And yeah if you noticed my new subj line, I forgot to mention in my first post that our Biscayne is a 6700 mile car with matching numbers. We REALLY REALLY REALLY want to have documentation about it's history. Thanks for the help, people.

P.S. Friday I will be at my parent's house and I will post a bunch of pics. Trust me, this car is incredible.

Was this car displayed at the Musclecar show in Plymouth two years ago. I believe I talked to your dad there.

If you mean the Land of Lakes GTO Club's annual car show (I think it's by invite only), then yes. Yeah the Biscayne actually won the Sponsor's Choice trophy that year. Pretty sweet.

Yes that is the one. Actually I don't think it is invitation only as I have been there every year and they wouldn't normally let my kind in to an invitation only. Nice car, I do remember looking at it and talking about it. I did not look the car over well enough to look for tell tale signs. Hope to see it again soon.

Well, now you can see it again...kinda sorta. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the pics I wanted to post...WAAY too many car pictures to look through. So here are some older pictures that we could find. Sorry it took me an extra day to post these, we were too busy watching the Barret-Jackson auction on Speedvision. Did those announcers get on anyone else's nerves with their ignorance as much as us? We (Dad and I) almost wanted to turn the sound off...especially when that British moron was talking out of his ass about that gorgeous COPO Camaro. Anyhow, enjoy the pics. I attached just one to this message, the rest are at http://www.pabstlovers.org/~zeke/68biscayne Will try to find more/better ones in the future. Also I plan on taking new pics of all our cars come spring. Should be pretty sweet.

Doh! Don't know why my one pic didn't get attached to the previous post, sorry about that. I guess just use the link to see all the pics.

Neat car. -waiting for more pics and info. Early or late build car? From which plant?

What's the deal with the '66 car it's facing in the pass. side pic?
