I wanted to post and relay some really cool info I found out today on my 1970 Chevelle LS6 "pilot car." The car has 2 buildsheets and the POP, but other than the guy I bought the car from I didn't have any "concrete" info on any of the previous owners (save the GM exec. that ordered the car). Well that changed today...
A couple of years ago I used the internet and a "people search" website to try to locate the original owner, and even though I found a few guys in the same general area, hadn't been successful at locating him. Well after sending a couple of letters (I had sent a few a couple of years ago as well)a few months ago, I received a phone call today from the original owner of my car. He relayed how he bought the car new, as a young guy (about 27 at the time)and how his cousin had a 1970 442 at the time that they used to play around with. He also said the car hated cold weather (most LS6's do.. ![]() He said he was going to try to locate some pics of the car when new and any paperwork he still has. I guess persistence pays off...I highly recomend doing name searches on the internet and mailing letters..never know what might happen. Greg |

Greg,
Congrats ![]() Icing on the cake will be if the original owner sends you old photos. If that does happen, please post them on this form so all can see. I for one, enjoy the vintage pictures.

I'm hoping that he has some photos and maybe copies of the paperwork. I also am working on getting a notorazied letter from him, attesting to the history of the car when he owned it.

The history can be almost as neat as the car itself. On the www.canamchevelles.com web site, I have a picture of the original owner posing with our Chevelle. Had a great chat with him as well. Hope to meet him again some time.
