Hi all! I am in search of a nice original, unbroken/unwelded 3933163 intake. I would prefer to try to locate one with good water passages and a decent thermostat lip still present. <font color="blue"> </font> The date code I need is in the 9/1968 <font color="blue"> </font> ...first week casting. Please let me know if you have what I need! Thanx!

Thank You, Yes! I search there regularly! I pass up quite a few, even nice ones with very decent thermo lip areas but I am persistent on my date code needs! Thanx!

Is not the date code on the underside and not showing, so curious why dated manifold would be of importance ???? I bought a 163 for my 69 Big Block at local swap meet. It had STEEL pipe plugs in several of the tapped water and gauge holes. They were seized......I'll be honest enough here to admit here, that after using some of the misc "tricks" people told me about I still CRACKED and ruined the piece. Now on EBAY I am still looking and asking sellers about condition of plugs. Most sellers are unwilling to try loosening plugs and I'm unwilling to gamble again......Still looking for any date , cosmetically correct 163 INTAKE.......Chuck S/Seattle

They are still available new over the counter from GM. The casting is similar to the original and just fine for a driver IMO.

I checked mine tonight, and although the date is hard to read, i think its 12-68. As for the new GM pieces, they dont look much like an original, in that the part number is cast in a totally different place (on the carb flange instead of the runner) and the texture of the casting is much rougher than the production line pieces. Nice looking intake, but really only good for a driver, or someone unconcerned with an original/correct appearance.
