I just bought a replacement fan from GM to see what the differences were. They are different in minor but obvious ways and are galvanized. Can't recall the original finish but old photos show the fan to be silver coloured, possibly galvanized.

Chevelleless after 46 years......but we did find a low mileage, six speed, silver 2005 Corvette. It will just have to do for now.

That is correct, they were galvanized. But have yet to find someone that can do it correct. I guess with the chemicals used in this process it is impossable for them to duplicate.
