I know most everything is valuable to the "numbers guys" but what about heater cores? I have one that looks like it's in great shape but havent had it tested. It's A 68D harrison small block chevy II core from A parts car. I have A freind who wants it for A driver if it tests ok but if it's worth much for its date (which of course is completley hidden from everybodys site) then he said to go that route and he would buy whatever the parts place had. Just wondering, If it's just another core i'll give it to him. Won't do me any good anyway for my car. Thanks.

I like to replace heater cores for the simple fact they are very difficult to replace once the car is restored. Having the original dated core is another way to document the car was an original big block. All clues are helpful...BKH

I had to replace on in my 66 Chevelle once and it was A pain. My freind is going to have it pressure tested I guess, he saw it the other day and asked about it and I really didn't think it ws valuable and I would go with A new one myself. I pulled this particular one from A 68 Chevy II that had A six in it, I got the car for the dash pad and radio and A few other little odds and ins. The guy wouldn't sell A screw off the car so I had to buy the whole thing. It ended up being A good deal for 300 bucks because it had T-3s, dogdish's with perfect wheels, great seatbelts and lots of dated stuff like A 837 alternator and many items I have allready sold and made my money back five times over. The neighbors didn't like it while it was here being dismantled (2 weeks) but they got over it.

Sure that Harrison is worth something, because it is made in USA. I am on my 3rd repro 3-core radiator-key phrase-MADE IN TAIWAN. A Harrison even needing to be recored is a cool find because they will last for quite a while if the right shop rebuilds it...........take care.....Joel
